Please never ever hesitate to email, facebook, skype, send a message in a bottle, write a note in the sky... anything if you have a question! This is incredibly important that you understand the policies and your package before purchasing. Once your payment is made, we are flying this plane together.

1. refund and cancellation requests
Chicken Scratch Studio provides an extensive portfolio for you to view before hiring me, your designer, for your project so that you can see the quality and level of my work. I want you to be confident and feel completely comfortable before beginning. If you have any questions at all, please contact me prior to making a payment for all services.

Any and all alterations to orders or projects, must be received before the work begins. Drafts and revisions will be charged at an hourly rate outside of your designated limit per design/project. No refunds on deposits for design packages or design projects will be issued. If a refund or cancellation for a design outside of a design package or design project is requested, it must be received in writing by email or mail and the work must not have started. 

2. deposits
All packages require a non-refundable 50% down payment before work begins. The final payment is due before any files will be released and your graphics will be released to the programmer for coding your website or the files will be sent to print. All other projects require a $300 down payment.

3. e-commerce, web and graphic design
Payments for custom web and graphic design projects are made to Chicken Scratch Studio in increments, initially as 50%, then however is most convenient for the client. 100% of the project must be paid in full before any of the project will be released. Once a payment or deposit is made, it is non-refundable. If a project is canceled or postponed, all monies paid are retained by Chicken Scratch Studio and if applicable, a fee for all work completed beyond what was already paid for shall be paid by the client. The process is as such: once client approval is rendered, Chicken Scratch Studio shall commence on that stage of the project.

4. print design
Print projects are non-refundable. Print projects are eligible for redesign only if design error is determined to be our fault. Chicken Scratch Studio is not liable for damages due to printing errors or problems from our files if full specifications from your printer were not provided or were incorrect/inaccurate, if you supply the wrong files to your printer or if an error is found in text or content after you have approved the artwork and the project was printed. Chicken Scratch Studio is not responsible for any errors in client-approved artwork that is sent to print or for color alterations due to monitor variations. Please be sure to always spell-check your information and also check the artwork on different devices if possible.

5. file delivery and finalization 
Once the project has been approved and finalized and all monies and have paid, files will be released in the appropriate methods. Graphic files for logos will be sent electronically in various formats (jpg, non-layered .psd, locked vector, etc), print files will be released to the client and/or printer and social media graphics will be electronically mailed or uploaded. Website graphics will be delivered to the programmer for coding and development with a timeframe given to the client and contact information provided as well. Once the project is approved and finalized, all production will cease and no more editing will be done. Under no circumstance will any graphic file be released with editable layers or permission be given for the use of manipulation or editing by you, the client, or another artist.

6. designer and client agreements 
The Client and Chicken Scratch Studio agree to comply with the provisions of the Code of Fair Practice (which is in the Ethical Standards section of chapter 1, Professional Relationships). This may be viewed here.

Client agrees not to hold the Chicken Scratch Studio liable for any incidental or consequential damages that arise from the failure to perform any aspect of the project in a timely manner, regardless of whether such failure was caused intentional or negligent acts or omissions of the Designer or Client, any client representatives or employees, or a third party.

Any disputes in excess of maximum limit for small-claims court arising out of the contract and Chicken Scratch Studio's policies shall be submitted to binding arbitration before a mutually agreed-upon arbitrator pursuant to the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The Arbitrator’s award shall be final, and judgment may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. The client shall pay all arbitration and court cost, reasonable attorney’s fees, and legal interest on any award of judgment in favor of the designer. All actions, whether brought by client or by the designer will be filed in the designer's state/county of residence. 
This contract is held accountable to the legal system of  Oklahoma and any applicable statutes held therein.

Chicken Scratch Studio reserves the right to cancel any contract when the client breaks the contract for any of the above reasons, the client/designer relationship is no longer productive, and or the client has opted to cease proper means of communication to either ensure a successful project design, demands more than the contract entailed, or ceased to make payments on the agreed upon schedule. When this happens, Chicken Scratch Studio will immediately contact the client with the reasons for the contract release, provide alternatives to try to ensure an amicable release, complete as much of the work that has begun, provde a detailed spreadsheet of hours worked towards the project and try to work towards a peaceful resolution.  

7. chargebacks and filing disputes 
If Chicken Scratch Studio receives a chargeback or payment dispute from a credit card company, bank or paypal, your service and/or project will be suspended without notice. A $25 chargeback fee (issued to recover fees passed on to us by the credit company), plus any outstanding balances accrued as a result of the chargeback(s) must be paid in full before service is restored, files delivered, or any further work is done. Instead of issuing a chargeback, contact us to address any billing issues, disputes or concerns. Requesting a chargeback for a valid charge from Chicken Scratch Studio is fraud, and is never an appropriate or legal means of obtaining a refund. Please read and make sure you fully understand our refund and design policies prior to making a payment, requesting a refund or filing a dispute.
